Special Services
- Wellness Program The wellness program was designed to keep you healthy long after your physical therapy has ended. This program is specifically for those patients who believe maintaining strength and range of motion are crucial components for improved quality of life. Here is how it works: upon discharge from physical therapy you will be invited to stay with us and continue your exercise program or have one specifically designed for you to meet your desired goals. When that time comes, let us know of your interest to continue and we will be happy to accommodate you. By the way, most referring physicians are happy that we have implemented this program knowing that it will help assure the absence of a recurrence of the existing problem and possibly ward off potential problems.
- SportsCare Aquatic Therapy Therapy in the water may be one of the modalities your therapist will recommend to speed up your rehabilitation process. John G. Fox, the director of SportsCare Physical Therapy, designed the pool for the sole purpose of rehabilitation. It is an excellent medium for a variety of problems. The pool is heated to a soothing 92 degrees. The hydro jets offer tight muscles welcomed relief. The aquatic principals are buoyancy, hydrostatic pressure, resistance and sensory stimulation. These principles enhance the biomechanics of movement patterns, decrease pain and facilitate an early return to land based activities. Patients experience a positive effect in static and dynamic balance, range of motion, mobility and relaxation in tense muscles. Aquatic therapy facilitates a comprehensive rehabilitative state.
- Back School Spinal education is a key component when treating back and neck problems. This educational program is part video presentation, exercise application and spine management techniques. Patients who participate in this program express a better understanding of their problem and the tools they can use immediately to help them manage their current condition.
